In the mind of a Wilson

Snow, snow, snow

Well - I didn't return as quickly as I thought I would on blogger. The weekend was fun, however alot on my mind and didn't even know how to churn it out on blogger.
So now I am back, and after spending a weekend in Stettler and driving home in the whiteout (that was scary, good thing I wasn't driving!). Stettler was eventful, made 400 chocolate teddy bear suckers for the christmas staff party, Curtis made a railing for our front steps! And for the first time I observed ice fishing out in Stettler on Curtis' parents property. Ice was a bit thin for my liking, 4 inches isnt that much support...
Anyways, last night was great I was able to spend time with my husband at a coffee shop and just hang out and have great conversations. Ever have memories you think of that just warm your heart? (i know cheesy, but too bad!) That was one of them last night.
Plus, we also checked out Kinsmen Sport Center and we are going to start exercising I think Saturday - they have squash courts and badminton and wolleyball, so it'll be fun not just weights all the time.
Well that's all for now - enjoy that snow!

I miss Ashley!

That's a picture of my goddaughter Ashley when I was in Vancouver in May of 2005 - it's been too long since I've seen her. She's a cutie.

Thankful

Today I feel an overwhelming thankfulness to God for:
1. My husband :) What a blessing he is!
2. Family - through trials and tribulations, family will always be there and God has truly taught me and worked in my heart and given me appreciation for family (on both sides!)
3. Friends, though I'd like to have the chance to build on my friendships more I am thankful for what I have and thankful for what the future opportunities have.
4. Provision - thankful for God's provision and blessing on everything we do, in our lives, business, everything.
I realize the holiday tommorow is Rememberence day and not Thanksgiving - but I am feeling like my cup overfloweth today. So those are my thoughts!

Corporate world, women and babies

We just got home from an after work social event featuring the Sizzling 20 under 30 - people that are ambitious and high achievers under 30 years of age. It was interesting but most of all great to meet new people. But it did make me think - why is it that most "succesful" women not have any children. And its unspoken that having children is not the path you should go down if you want to "succeed".
I could rant and rant, but I thought Id post that "thought". :)

day 2

I'm posting again - going to try to keep this regular :)
Well it's a tad FREEZING today, the weather has gotten alot colder in the last two days, ice ice everywhere :) As much as I don't like cold weather, I'm actually happy it's here. Last year when things were brown and even Christmas was brown, it just didn't feel right and it was hard to get into the Christmas spirit. Now with snow all around, there's a peaceful feeling about it.
Well, today is a full day at work and then tonight Curtis and I are going to Sizzling 20 under 30, celebrating 20 people under the age of 30 for their achievements. Should be interesting. (http://edmontonians.com/Index_August06.htm)
I am not sure why I'm not able to post the pictures from the gala, but it just won't work.
And I'm excited to go to the in-laws this weekend. Curtis is going to work on making a railing for our house (outside) and I'm going to work on christmas party favors for the staff party - 350 chocolate teddy bear suckers and 70 centerpieces. I'm very much looking forward to it. So I guess I won't be on blogger for a couple days. Stettler doesn't have wireless internet :)

Trying this again

After a couple posts in September I gave up, I must admit I was hoping for responses. But I am going to go about this a different way and not expect comments. Instead I will just rant about what is on my mind.
And after a couple months of busyness my mind has cleared and I can actually converse and think in my mind instead of the blank slate it has been lately.
I met with a great friend, Ange, last night and I love how we can always pick up where we last left off. Her daugther is too cute and I enjoy our friendship alot.
Work has been chugging along, I just finished planning and coordinating the 6th Annual Grande Masque Ball & Auction. Which was gorgeous. I'm trying to post pictures but blogger is not letting me.
And now I'm helping with the staff/faculty Christmas party - A Teddy Bear Christmas and am collecting teddy bears and helping with the decor.
Another reason I haven't posted is because I forgot my username and password! That would help!
Anyways, that is all I have for now.
